Corsan, Denton, Burdekin & Co Bowie Knife C/AR389 CORSAN, DENTON, BURDEKIN & CO. This massive Sheffield bowie knife from the 1850's-1860's is pictured in the book, "The Antique Bowie Knife book by Adams, Voyles". It has a nicely polished 10" blade, except where someone scratched the blade while trying to sharpen it and has a 16 3/4" overall length. The scratches are not deep and have not altered the shape of the blade at all. This is a real fancy dress bowie knife with ebony handle and 3 pearl inlays. The pommel cap and guard are hollow castings done in nice detail. he scabbard is leather and 100% complete with its German silver tip. It still retains its frog and belt loop, although the surface is scuffed and worn. The sheath itself is in excellent condition with nice gold rope bordering. |
