This is an opened deck of 1797 reproduction pasteboard Playing Cards and are exact down to the square corners, no indices and plain backs. Similar to Faro cards from the 1870's in size and material these cards differ in that each card has a title, a fable and a moral verse along with a picture. That is a lot of information per card and makes for very interesting reading. Such reproductions were made for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in the 1980's. |
